Ruth's Bio
Painterly Reactions to Times & Places
Ruth Helen Smith studied Art History at The Courtauld Institute for BA and MA, before completing a 2 year diploma in figurative painting at The Heatherley School of Fine Art.
Since then she has been making oil paintings, mostly en plein air, as a kind of painterly poral to an inner landscape. Loosley figurative, the works operate as poetic meditations on being in a certain place at a certain time.
