During surgery for heart valve repair, I suffered a stroke, followed by heart failure shortly after.  This curtailed my work life and main hobbies. Luckily, I was referred to Harefield Hospital in West London where I was fitted with a LVAD.

At secondary school, I was considered a bit of an artist and was advised to apply for Art College. However, the idea fizzled away, and my parents advised me to “get a proper job!”

I dabbled with pencil drawing and oil painting when I could find the time, but now I have another chance to develop a long-forgotten ability.

I mainly paint original watercolour pictures of Dartmoor; however, I do take commissions for other projects.  I have also returned to portrait painting in Oil on canvas.
